Addie Brown, LPC, NCC

Welcome! I know that making the decision to pursue counseling is an investment, and finding the “right” therapist for you can feel overwhelming. A huge part of whether counseling will be helpful to you depends on how comfortable you feel with your therapist.

I served 5 years in the Navy, and many more years as a Marine Corps spouse. My time as both a service member and a military dependent has made me aware of the unique struggles that come with military life. As such, I knew I wanted to work with veterans and their families on issues such as post-deployment reunification, emotional disengagement in relationships, adjustment to injuries/disabilities, and transition to civilian life.

While the military population is near and dear to my heart, what I love most about my job is being able to help people from all walks of life who are seeking to find ways to increase their internal strength. I have worked with clients dealing with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, marital conflict, anger, and trauma. My specialties include evidenced-based interventions such as The Gottman Method for marital therapy and EMDR therapy to address trauma.

I am a National Certified Counselor and hold dual licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (VA) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA). I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Family Studies at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2005, and my Master of Science degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Fresno in 2009.

Are you ready for your next chapter? Give me a call for a complimentary 15 minute phone consultation. I enjoy answering questions about counseling, and I’m happy to take the time to make sure I would be the best fit for you and your goals.
